ICA Intergroup Communication Top Paper Award
Hyeonchang Gim and I received a Top Paper Award from the International Communication Association's Intergroup Communication Interest Group for our ICA 2025 paper, "Using Natural Language Processing to Uncover Linguistic Features of Intergroup Bias in Open-Ended Descriptions of Synthesized Human Images."
The paper examines how natural language processing methods can help characterize linguistic evidence of intergroup bias in open-ended descriptions of synthesized human images. The work was presented at the 75th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association, held June 12-16, 2025 in Denver, Colorado.
